By default the market data used to create a commodity’s volatility surface comes from the real-time term structure.
Once the page is displayed for a commodity you can edit the market data used to create the volatility surface by editing the term structure.
You do this by opening the Term Structure page for the Volatility Surface page and editing it. If you do this, the changes only affect calculations in the page from which the term structure was opened, i.e., the Volatility Surface page. After you have edited the data in the Term Structure page, when you next open it from the Volatility Surface, any manually edited data is highlighted in blue.
This affects all volatility surfaces created for this commodity until:
You close the Volatility Surface page.
The current session ends.
In the Volatility Surface page you click Refresh button.
In the Term Structure page you click Refresh and then Accept.
To edit the term structure for the session:
1. | In the Volatility Surface page click the Term Structure button. The Term Structure page used to create volatility surfaces for this commodity opens. |
2. | In the Term Structure page make any changes. |
3. | Click Accept. The Term Structure page closes and the volatility surface page displayed is updated according to the new market data. |
