Working with the Payout Chart

For a single option in the Single Option window or a number of options in the Portfolio window, the Payout Chart tool lets you graphically display for your customer a last day payout chart.

What Is a Last Day Payout Chart? A last day payout chart graphically displays the value of the selected option (or portfolio) on the last day, at various spot levels.

Which instruments can a last day payout chart be generated for? A last day payout chart can be generated for the following instruments:

Vanilla option

Vanilla strategy

Asian option

Asian strategy

After generating the Last Day payout chart you can display the last day payout in terms of either the unit or the base currency, alter the spot range displayed in the graph, and then save and/or print it.

 

You can only access a last day payout chart for a portfolio if all its options have the same expiry date.

You can display a last day payout chart for a single option or for a portfolio as follows:

By creating a trade idea which includes a last day payout chart.

By generating Risk Charts.

In the window in which the risk charts open there is a Payout Chart button which lets you see the last day payout chart for the option/portfolio.

To display a last day payout chart for a single option or for a portfolio:

1. After entering the relevant option/portfolio, on the ribbon bar in the Structurer tab click Risk Charts.
2. Click Last Day Payout.

After generating the Last Day payout chart you can display the last day payout in terms of either currency, alter the spot range displayed in the graph, and then save and/or print it.

 

To create a graph for more than one option simultaneously (i.e., from the Portfolio window), ensure all the options have the same expiry date.
