Opening a Set of Saved Swaption Forward Rates

Once you have saved a set of Swaption Forward Rates for a particular trade date (for more information on saving rates see Saving a Set of Swaption Forward Rates) at any stage you can then upload it back into the Swaption Forward Rates page for the current session.

It is important to note that loading an existing set of rates into the Swaption Forward Rates page will automatically overwrite the data currently displayed in the page. However, SDX Interest Rates will not use the uploaded rates in any calculations until you tell it to do that by clicking the Accept button.

In addition, the uploaded rates will only be used for calculations that have the same trade date. So for example, if you upload a set of rates for 1 September 2009, even after you click the Accept button, these rates will only be used in the pricing page for an instrument that also has a 1 September 2009 trade date.

To open a previously saved swaption forward rates file:

1. In the Swaption Forward Rates page click Open. The SD-IR Explorer window opens in the SW Forward Rates folder.
2. Click the relevant currency folder. The swaption forward rates files saved for this currency are displayed on the right-hand side of the window.
3. To open the file you can do either of the following:

Click the relevant file so it is highlighted and any comments appear in the middle panel. Then click the Open button.

Double-click the relevant file.

The rates in the selected file are uploaded to the Swaption Forward Rates page.

4. To instruct the system to use the rates, click the Accept button.
