Once you have specified one or more instruments in the Portfolio page, you can save the portfolio.
Saving a portfolio means you can access it in the future, make it available to other users, etc.
From the Portfolio page you can save a portfolio in a number of different formats (or types) as follows:
Portfolio [P]
Portfolio template [PT]
Structure template [ST]
Structure [S]
For more information on these different formats, see What Portfolio Types Are Available?.
You save a portfolio (irrespective of its type) via the Portfolio Management window, where you must select the relevant folder in which to save the portfolio. If you are saving a portfolio to one of the public templates, it is important to note that if you belong to more than one user group you will also need to choose into which user group (or folder) to save it. You only see the name of the user groups if you belong to more than one user group.
When you save a portfolio into a public folder, you can also decide if you want to save it into the Structure Catalog.
Before you can save a portfolio, you must first calculate it. Subsequently, when you save it, any calculated rates (for example, the fixed rate or the spread) are saved in the system as though they were manually edited by the user. This is true even if these rates were not edited by the user. When you next open the portfolio the calculated rates are displayed as they were saved. To emphasize that they were saved as user inputs, these fields are highlighted in blue.
