Using the Single Option Data Window

In the Portfolio page, by default each instrument is displayed in its own column. However, due to space limitations, some fields and buttons cannot be displayed in an instrument’s column. Instead they are included in the Single Option Data window for this instrument. This window mirrors the layout format of the Single Option page.

You access this window for an instrument by clicking its Data button.

In the Single Option Data window you can define the instrument’s parameters as required. However, you cannot edit its currency or trade date (which is set per portfolio in the main Portfolio page) or the instrument type, which must be set in the Portfolio page before you can access the Single Option Data window.

An advantage of defining an instrument via the Single Option Data window is that it contains an additional area that is not seen in the Portfolio page itself called the Trade Information area.

This area:

Lets you define an external ID for the deal, for example, the ID used in your own third party systems. You can then see the saved external ID in the Results area for that deal in the Portfolio page itself.

Is the only way to define the instrument’s “traded on” information, and its premium and counterparty data, as well as make a note. For more information on adding a note, see Adding a Note to an Instrument in a Portfolio.

When you then click the Accept button all the data defined in the Single Option Data window is saved for the deal. However, you may not see all these details in the column for that instrument in the Portfolio page. This is partly due to space limitations. In addition, most of the data entered in the Trade Information area (with the exception of the external ID information) is never displayed in the Portfolio page itself.

To work with an instrument in the Single Option Data page:

1. In the Portfolio page in the relevant instrument column select the instrument type from the Option field.
2. Click the Data button in the instrument’s column heading. The Single Option Data page is displayed.
3. Define the instrument’s settings as required.
4. Click Accept. The instrument’s details are saved and the Single Option Data window closes.
