The Portfolio Management window lets you save any instrument or portfolio you have created and then open it again at a later date. It also lets you manage your portfolios (for example, copying, pasting and deleting them), and share them with others.
The Portfolio Management window is opened:
From the Single Option page from the ribbon bar > Home tab by clicking any of the Open, Save or Add to Portfolio buttons (as relevant).
From the Portfolio page from the ribbon bar > Home tab by clicking the Open or Save buttons (as relevant) or within the page itself by clicking the Open or Save buttons.
This window contains:
The user's own My Portfolio folder
As access to this folder is limited to a particular user (the user it belongs to), there is no way for other users to access portfolios in this folder. Therefore, if you want users to be able to access your portfolios you need to save them into the Public folder or the Shared folder.
Public Folder
By default, all users have access to this folder which is displayed in the Portfolio Management window. Each user can save trades and portfolios to this location (instead of to the My Portfolio folder), and open and copy any portfolio in it that was created by another user registered within the same company.
|
All users have open and copy permissions for portfolios created by other users in the same company, but no user can delete a folder or a portfolio in the Public Folder. |
Shared folder
This is a folder in the Portfolio Management window where a user can store trades and portfolios. However, a shared folder is not available to all users by default. Access to it is assigned on a per-user basis by Customer Support.
What a user can do within the shared folder depends on the assigned permission. Some users can only open and copy portfolios in it, and some users (not just the creator) can edit, save and delete portfolios in it.
What Can be Done in the Portfolio Management Window?
In the Portfolio Management window you can:
View the portfolios in each folder by clicking the folder name in the Folders area.
Create new folders by clicking the New Folder button.
Rename folders and portfolios in your My Portfolios folder.
You do this by selecting the relevant folder or portfolio and then clicking the Rename button.
|
You cannot rename the default folders, i.e., the My Portfolios folder or the Public Folder, or any item in the Public Folder. |
Delete one or more items (a folder or a portfolio) from your My Portfolios folder.
You do this by selecting the relevant item(s) and then clicking the Delete button. You can select a parent folder for deletion, i.e., a folder that contains items, both sub-folders and/or portfolios. When you then delete a parent folder, the system also delete everything contained within that parent folder. In that case a message appears telling you that if the selected folder contains portfolios and/or folders then those items will be deleted as well.
|
You cannot manually delete an item from the Public Folder. To do this you must contact [email protected]. |
Move portfolios from one folder to another in the My Portfolios folder.
You do this using the Cut and Paste buttons.
Copy portfolios from one folder to another using the Copy and Paste buttons.
Share portfolios by copying them into the Public Portfolios folder.
Open a portfolio. See Opening a Portfolio in the Single Option Page and Opening a Portfolio in the Portfolio Page.
