If you have chosen to view the Portfolio page in the horizontal view (Changing the Portfolio’s Orientation Between Vertical and Horizontal) you can still set the amortization type for the vanilla swap, general swap, cap/floor and general cap/floor instruments.
You do this using the Amortization Type column to instruct the system how to change the notional per fixing.
It is important to note that:
You will first need to instruct the system to display the Amortization Type column, and the two columns that go with it, i.e., the Amortized By and the Percentage/Amount columns, in the horizontal view. They are not displayed by default. To do this see Customizing the Horizontal View of the Portfolio Page.
If from the Amortization Type dropdown list you select:
The Annuity Loan setting, it is set automatically to zero cost. If you want it to be something else, you must set it from the Swap Cash Flow Dates window.
Decrease or Increase, the system will then display a textbox in the new Amortized By column and a Percent <> Amount toggle button in the Percentage/Amount column.
Custom, you are told that you can only do this via the instrument’s Swap Cash Flow Dates window.
