Using the Keyboard

You can use the keyboard to carry out certain functions in SDX Interest Rates without a mouse.

You can:

Navigate between fields and buttons.

You can move:

Forward using TAB or ENTER.

Backward using SHIFT+TAB together.

Select an item within a drop-down menu

You do this using the UP/DOWN ARROW keys.

Exit a dropdown list without making any changes

You do this using ESC.

Toggle between two values of a toggle button

You do this using the UP/DOWN ARROW keys. Examples of toggle buttons include the Pay<>Receive and Float<>Receive buttons.

In addition you can use the keyboard’s function keys as listed in Table 1.

Calculates the current instrument or portfolio.

F4

Refreshes the market rates displayed in the page.

F7

Creates risk charts for the current instrument.

Activates the Solver.

F9

Clears the current instrument or portfolio.

F10

Lets you open a saved instrument or portfolio, depending on which page you are in.

If you are in the:

The Single Option page this button opens the SD-IR Explorer Window in the Recent Deals directory. This directory contains all single instruments saved from the Single Option page. From this directory you can then load any saved deal into the Single Option page.

The Portfolio Page this button opens the Portfolio Management window. For more information see Working in the Portfolio Management Window.

Note: Loading an existing instrument or portfolio into the current page overwrites any data currently displayed.

F11

Lets you send the current instrument or portfolio to one or more SDX Interest Rates user on your list of recipients.

F12

Saves the current instrument/portfolio.
